These times frames are only estimates and are not guaranteed by the Post Office which means sometimes it can take a few days longer than expected.
But it also means that sometimes it can be delivered earlier than expected. For example, if you are in California and are mailing to New York it will most likely take closer to the 14 day estimate because the pieces have to go all the way across the country before they are processed and sent out for mailing.
If you are in Los Angeles and mailing to San Diego it is more likely than the pieces will be delivered quicker than the estimated time frame.
The safest bet is to always be ahead of schedule. Don't wait until the last minute and then try and get your order printed and mailed just before your need them. Most often you'll miss your deadline. Save yourself a lot of stress and worry and get your job designed and submitted for printing about a month before you want them delivered so that they can be mailed about 2 weeks before your delivery date.
The advantage of magnets is that they are going to be around from now until your event date and beyond. If you mail just a regular postcard even a few weeks before your event it's likely to be lost, or thrown away or forgotten.
If you a mail a magnet however you could mail now for an event six months or a year from now and the magnet would be there all that time reminding people of the event time and location, or inviting them to come by your new location, or to take advantage of a special offer.
